Kya aaj stock market khula hai?

Seedha jawab

NSE ka equity aur equity-derivative market Monday se Friday trade karta hai. Is page ka jawab jo window tay karti hai, woh hai Continuous trading — every segment — 9:15 am se 3:15 pm IST. Saturday, Sunday aur exchange ki published trading-holiday list ki har date par yeh band rehta hai.

Session windows: NSE circulars NSE/CMTR/73362, NSE/FAOP/75472, NSE/CMTR/76170, aakhri baar 2026-09-04 ko padhe gaye. Trading days: NSE Capital Market calendar (NSE/CMTR/71775 (12 Dec 2025)), aakhri baar 2026-09-07 ko padha gaya. Dono is page ke neeche poore diye gaye hain.

Exchange iske aas-paas aur windows bhi chalata hai — Pre-open call auction 9:00 am se 9:10 am (Equity cash + equity derivatives (F&O)), Closing auction (CAS) 3:15 pm se 3:35 pm (Equity cash — stocks that have derivatives), Continuous trading continues 3:15 pm se 3:30 pm (Equity cash — stocks with no derivatives), Continuous trading continues 3:15 pm se 3:40 pm (Equity derivatives (F&O) — index and stock contracts), Post-close session 3:50 pm se 4:00 pm (Equity cash). Inme se koi bhi market ka khula hona nahi hai. Upar ka timetable har window ko dikhata hai, aur usme kya hota hai woh bhi.

Neeche ka jawab aapke browser mein, abhi, Indian Standard Time mein nikalta hai. Yeh NSE ke equity aur equity-derivative (F&O) segments ko cover karta hai. Yeh exchange ka published holiday calendar use karta hai.

NSE equity & F&O — trading hours in IST

NSE trades from 9:15 am IST, Monday to Friday, and closes in stages from 3:15 pm

NSE runs continuous trading from 9:15 am IST, Monday to Friday, and closes in stages: cash stocks with derivatives stop at 3:15 pm and finish in a closing auction to 3:35 pm, other cash stocks trade to 3:30 pm, and equity derivatives (F&O) trade to 3:40 pm. A pre-open session runs first. It is shut on Saturdays, Sundays and NSE trading holidays. The verdict for this exact minute is worked out in your browser from your device clock converted to IST, so it is never a stale build-time answer.

Standard NSE session timings on a trading day, in IST. From 3:15 pm the segments finish at different times, so the windows below overlap — more than one can be live at the same minute.
SessionTiming (IST)SegmentWhat happens
Pre-open call auction09:00 – 09:10Equity cash + equity derivatives (F&O)Orders are collected and the opening price is discovered. The order window shuts at a random moment after 9:08 am, then the price is matched and a buffer runs to 9:15 am. Nothing has traded continuously yet.
Continuous trading — every segment09:15 – 15:15Equity cash + equity derivatives (F&O)The normal market, with every segment on this page trading at once. After 3:15 pm they finish at different times.
Closing auction (CAS)15:15 – 15:35Equity cash — stocks that have derivativesThese stocks leave continuous trading at 3:15 pm, and their closing price is settled by one auction rather than by averaging the last half hour of trades.
Continuous trading continues15:15 – 15:30Equity cash — stocks with no derivativesThe closing auction does not cover these stocks yet, so they keep trading continuously to 3:30 pm exactly as before.
Continuous trading continues15:15 – 15:40Equity derivatives (F&O) — index and stock contractsIndex and stock futures and options keep trading continuously for 25 minutes after the cash closing auction starts. This is the last continuous trading of the day.
Post-close session15:50 – 16:00Equity cashA short window that trades at the closing price. Continuous trading is already over in every segment.
These are the hours as they stand after 3 August 2026, when the Closing Auction Session changed the end of the trading day (NSE/FAOP/75472). The cash market and the derivatives segment no longer stop at the same minute — each row above says which segment it belongs to, and the explainer below walks through what changed.
Next NSE trading holiday listed after Sun, 18 Oct, 2026: Dussehra, Tue, 20 Oct, 2026.
Trading days come from the NSE Capital Market holiday calendar (NSE/CMTR/71775 (12 Dec 2025), addendum NSE/CMTR/72260 (12 Jan 2026)), last read 2026-09-07.
Sun, 8 Nov, 2026 is scheduled for the Muhurat trading session for Diwali Laxmi Pujan. Muhurat Trading timings to be notified separately by NSE.

3 August 2026 ko trading day badal gaya

Agar aapne NSE ka timetable August 2026 se pehle seekha tha, toh uska ek hissa ab purana ho chuka hai. Trading day ka ant ab ek Closing Auction Session ke ird-gird bana hai. Ise aksar CAS likhte hain. Yeh ek chhoti auction hai jo share ka closing price tay karti hai. Closing price ab normal trading se apne aap nahi nikalta. NSE circular NSE/FAOP/75472 (30 Jul 2026) date ke baare mein saaf kehta hai: “the changes in trading modalities in the Equity Derivatives segment due to introduction of CAS in equity segment, shall be effective in LIVE from August 03, 2026.”

Closing auction asal mein kya hai

Normal continuous trading mein aapka order aate hi saamne wale order se match hota hai. Isliye ek share har second alag price par trade ho sakta hai. Auction yeh rok deti hai. Ek tay window tak exchange orders jama karta hai, unhe match nahi karta. Ant mein woh ek hi equilibrium price nikaalta hai. Yeh woh price hai jispar dono taraf ke orders saath mein match hote hain. Us auction mein trade karne wale sab ek hi price par trade karte hain.

Jo share CAS ke andar aata hai, uske liye wahi auction price din ka closing price hai (NSE/CMTR/73362, clause 5.1.1). Yeh continuous trading se laya gaya number nahi hai. Jab koi equilibrium price nahi ban paata, sirf tab exchange continuous trading ke ek figure par lautta hai. Woh figure hai 3:00 se 3:15 pm ke beech us share ke trades ka volume-weighted average price. Wahi average auction ka reference price bhi hai. Uske ird-gird ±3% ka price band banta hai (clauses 2.1, 3.1.1 aur 5.1.1). Auction ke dauran exchange jo dikhta hai woh chhaapta rehta hai. Yaani indicative equilibrium price, us par trade ho sakne wali quantity, aur buy aur sell taraf ka farak (clause 6).

Equilibrium price mein sirf limit orders aur market orders gine jaate hain. Order ko apni poori quantity dikhani hoti hai, sirf uska disclosed hissa nahi (clauses 4.1 aur 4.2).

Cash aur F&O ab ek hi minute par band nahi hote

NSE/CMTR/73362 cash market ke continuous trading session ka aakhri aadha ghanta naye sire se tay karta hai. Ab woh 2:45 pm se 3:15 pm tak hai (clause 3.2.1.1). Woh derivatives segment ke trading market hours ko aise batata hai: “from 9:00 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. including CAS” (clause 3.2.2.1). In dono ke beech cash market apni auction mein hota hai. Usi waqt stock futures trade karte rehte hain. Woh reference price har contract ke apne 3:00–3:15 pm ke volume-weighted average se aata hai (clauses 2.3 aur 3.2.1.1).

Is page ka verdict inme se kisko follow karta hai. Upar ka haan-ya-na ek hi window se tay hota hai, aur page yeh khud kehta hai: Continuous trading — every segment, 9:15 am se 3:15 pm IST (Equity cash + equity derivatives (F&O)). Woh window khatam hote hi jawab band ho jaata hai, chahe koi doosra segment ya auction abhi chal rahi ho. Woh upar ke timetable mein apni timing aur apne segment ke saath dikhte hain. Jis waqt aap dekhte ho, us waqt chal rahi row wahan mark hoti hai.

Yeh abhi har share par lagu nahi hai

CAS charanon mein aa raha hai, aur pehla charan chhota hai. Circular ke apne shabd: “CAS shall be made applicable in a phased manner. Initially, the closing price of stocks in the cash segment on which derivative contracts are available shall be determined based on CAS” (NSE/CMTR/73362, clause 1.1). Jis share par koi derivative contract nahi hai, uska closing price abhi bhi purane tareeke se banta hai (clause 5.1.2). Ek index mein dono tarah ke shares ek saath ho sakte hain. Isliye auction ke dauran exchange 2 index values chhaapta hai: asli index, aur ek indicative closing index value (clause 6.5).

Pehle se tay: 7 September 2026

Sabse naya update NSE/CMTR/76170 (3 Sep 2026) hai. Yeh upar ke timetable ke ghanton mein koi badlav nahi hai.

Yeh hissa exchange ke published mechanism ka bayaan hai. Usme trading ke baare mein koi salah nahi hai. Circulars is page ke neeche diye gaye hain. Saath mein unki dates hain, aur unhe aakhri baar padhne ki date bhi.

Jawab kaise tay hota hai

Sirf 4 sawaal hain, aur woh kram se poochhe jaate hain.

  1. Kya exchange ne isi date ke liye koi special session publish kiya hai? Agar haan, toh us circular ki apni window neeche ke har rule se upar hai. Isme weekend wala rule bhi aata hai. Isi wajah se ek Sunday bhi trading day ho sakta hai.
  2. Kya koi aisa session tay hai jiske ghante abhi publish nahi hue? Muhurat trading iska har saal ka udaharan hai. Date saal ke circular mein hoti hai, aur timing alag circular mein aati hai. Aisi date par yeh page kehta hai ki session ki ummeed hai.
Tab equity aur F&O segments poore din band rehte hain. Holiday list circular se pehle hi publish hoti hai. Woh kisi aise rule par nahi chalti jise aap khud nikaal sako. Isliye date ko list mein dekhna padta hai.
  4. Ghadi kis session window mein hai? Yahi ek window jawab ko hara karti hai. Iske pehle aur baad, is page ke hisaab se market band hai, trading day par bhi.

Worked example 1 — ek holiday

Maan lijiye Fri, 26 Jun, 2026. Kisi special-session circular mein yeh date nahi hai, isliye sawaal 1 paar ho jaata hai. Is par bina published timing wala koi session bhi tay nahi hai, isliye sawaal 2 bhi paar. Sawaal 3 ise trading-holiday list mein Muharram ke naam se paata hai (NSE/CMTR/71775 (12 Dec 2025)). Market poore din band hai. Isliye sawaal 4 — ghadi kis session window mein hai — poocha hi nahi jaata. Agla trading session Mon, 29 Jun, 2026, 9:15 am IST par hai. Beech ka weekend chhod diya jaata hai, isliye calendar lagatar 3 non-trading din paar karta hai.

Worked example 2 — ek khula din, deciding window khatam hone ke 5 minute baad

Maan lijiye Mon, 24 Aug, 2026 ko 3:20 pm IST. Yeh weekend nahi hai, aur holiday list mein bhi nahi hai. Isliye yeh normal trading day hai. Lekin Continuous trading — every segment (9:15 am se 3:15 pm IST) 5 minute pehle khatam ho chuka tha. Usi minute ka market status: Open — but the cash market is in its closing auction — Continuous trading in the equity cash segment ended at 3:15 pm IST for stocks that have derivatives, and those stocks are now in the closing auction, which matches by 3:35 pm. Cash stocks with no derivatives are still trading continuously until 3:30 pm. Equity derivatives (F&O) keep trading continuously until 3:40 pm IST.

Yeh paragraph haath se nahi likha gaya. Wahi engine page ke upar wale live sawaal ka jawab deta hai. Verdict aur uske baad ka vaakya wahi hai jo woh 2026-08-24 15:20 IST ke liye lautata hai. Exchange koi window khiskaata hai, toh yeh example bhi saath mein badal jaata hai.

“Aaj band hai” ek nahi, kai sawaal hain

Trading, clearing, settlement aur bank mein paise nikaalna alag processes hain. Har process ke apne documents aur calendar hain. Table har process ko check karne ki jagah batata hai.

SawaalKya tay karta haiJawab kahan milta hai
Kya abhi koi order match ho sakta hai?Date trading day hai ya nahi, aur ghadi Continuous trading — every segment ke andar hai ya nahi.Is page ke upar ka live verdict.
Kya yeh date trading day hai bhi?Exchange ki published holiday list, weekend rule, aur koi bhi circular jo us din special session tay kare.Holiday list, aur woh calendar jisse yeh list bani hai.
Kya aaj ka trade waqt par clear aur settle hoga?Us segment ka settlement calendar, jo apne non-settlement din chhod deta hai. Exchange trade kar raha ho sakta hai, jabki clearing corporation band ho.Settlement date calculator.
Kya aaj koi contract khatam ho raha hai?Us contract ki apni specification, aur us par laga koi holiday adjustment. Expiry session timetable se nahi padhi jaati. Woh kisi yaad rakhe weekday se bhi nahi nikalti.NIFTY aur BANKNIFTY ke monthly contracts ke liye, is page ka agli expiry wala block. Kisi aur contract ke liye, uski apni specification.
Kya aaj paisa bank mein nikala ja sakta hai?Broker ke apne likhe hue processing cut-offs, aur banking day. Dono kisi bhi exchange calendar ke bahar hain. Broker balance mein dikhta paisa settle hue paise jaisa nahi hai. Aur dono, bank ko bheje gaye paise jaise nahi hain.Broker ke cut-offs aur account ledger. Is site par kuch bhi iska jawab nahi de sakta.

Pehli row ke andar ek aur jaal hai. Broker exchange ke ghanton ke bahar bhi instruction le sakta hai, aur use agle session tak rok sakta hai. Li gayi instruction trade nahi hai. Kuch hua ya nahi, yeh order screen nahi, execution record batata hai. Inme se har ek alag baat kyun hai, yeh ‘bazaar band hai’ ke 4 alag matlab mein samjhaya gaya hai.

Kinare ke maamle jo logon ko uljhaate hain

Pre-open session market ka khula hona nahi hai

09:00 aur 09:10 IST ke beech exchange orders jama karta hai aur opening price nikaalta hai. Order books hilti hain aur screens jal uthti hain. Abhi tak kuch bhi continuously trade nahi hua hota. Yeh page us window ko band ginta hai aur uska label dikhata hai. Woh pehle se hari batti nahi dikhata.

15:15 ek pakki seema hai, rounding nahi

Usse ek minute pehle market khula hai. 15:15:00 par nahi. Uske baad ek alag rule wali alag cheez aati hai: ek auction, ya kisi doosre segment ki window. Woh normal trading ka badha hua hissa nahi hai. 3 August 2026 ke badlav ne yeh farak aur tez kar diya. Cash market ka continuous session aur derivatives segment ab alag minute par khatam hote hain.

Weekend hamesha band nahi hota

Exchange kabhi-kabhi weekend par live session chalata hai. Yeh page jo calendar padhta hai, usme aisa ek session hai. Yeh Sunday 1 February 2026 ko hua ek special live session hai, apne circular ke saath. Aisi date par upar ka status us circular ki apni timings follow karta hai, weekend rule nahi.

Woh kehta hai ki session ki ummeed hai. Woh us circular ka naam batata hai jise ghanton ke liye dekhna hai. Woh aisa koi opening time nahi chhaapta jise woh source nahi kar sakta. Aur jab exchange keh chuka ho ki trading hogi, tab woh us date ko poori chhutti bhi nahi likhta. Timing wala circular publish hokar judte hi, wahi date us circular ki apni window se jawab dene lagti hai. Bilkul upar wale special Sunday session ki tarah.

Trading holiday aur settlement holiday alag cheezein hain

Exchange khula ho sakta hai jabki clearing corporation band ho. Settlement aise kaaranon se bhi agle din khisak sakta hai jo market band nahi karte. Woh alag sawaal hai, aur settlement calculator uska jawab deta hai.

Doosre segments apne ghante rakhte hain

Yeh page sirf NSE ke equity cash aur equity-derivative segments ko cover karta hai. Currency aur commodity segments lambe ya alag sessions chalate hain. Achanak ke halts exchange live announce karta hai. Woh kisi published calendar mein nahi aa sakte.

NISM syllabus mein yeh kahan aata hai

Trading hours, pre-open call auction aur exchange holiday calendar "trading mechanism" ke topics hain, product knowledge ke nahi. Yeh NISM ki securities-market certification workbooks mein shuru mein hi aate hain. Jaise equity-derivatives aur research-analyst series. Woh instruments tak jaane se pehle batati hain ki trading session kaise bana hai. Exam mein poochhe jaane wale facts wahi hain jo is page par hain. Yaani timetable mein har session window ke ghante.

NISM apni workbooks aur syllabus outlines samay-samay par badalta hai. 3 August 2026 ko Closing Auction Session shuru hua. Usse pehle chhapa edition trading day ka purana ant batata hai. Apne exam ke current unit aur chapter NISM website ki official workbook edition se milaaiye.
